Job summary

Astellas is seeking a Clinical Development Physician, Oncology Solid Tumor (Medical Director) to lead late-stage trials within Immuno-Oncology. Based in Northbrook, IL with hybrid work options, you will shape strategy and execution for assigned programs.

You will oversee protocol design, safety monitoring, regulatory documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality data supporting development decisions.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD with Oncology fellowship completed.
• Board certified with patient treatment experience.
• 5+ years in pharma or academia in clinical trial design/execution.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with asset team to advance one or more clinical trials.
• Serves as Medical Monitor for safety monitoring and safety reporting.
• Coordinate safety discussions with Safety Officer and review safety documentation.
• Contributes to protocol development, regulatory documents, and trial analyses.
• Integrates cross-functional perspectives (Clinical Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs) into development plans.
• Lead and present clinical development milestones at governance meetings.
