Job summary

Hologic, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to drive design and development of innovative medical devices from concept through production. The role emphasizes customer-centric design, technical judgment, and leadership across projects.

The candidate will lead subsystem ownership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure milestones are met and product quality is ensured throughout development and transfer to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with research and development experience in the medical device industry.
• 5 years of work experience in the health and/or business communities with Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-3 years of work experience in the health and/or business communities with Master’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium sized projects with subsystem ownership and manage deliverables to meet milestones.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and direct engineers, technicians, and staff.
• Lead technical project meetings and present to support technical decisions.
• Routinely interact with project teams, suppliers, customers, contractors, and others.
• Contribute to scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments and projects.
• Research new techniques to support completion of assignments.
• Solve complex problems using deep technical knowledge.
• Apply broad knowledge to solve problems in a specific practice area.
• Prepare project documents, engineering reports, and verification/validation documentation.
• Lead build and manufacturing transfer activities.
• Apply risk management tools across the product lifecycle.
• Develop new techniques and improved processes, materials, or products.
• Assist with proposals for funding engineering projects.
