Job summary

BD is seeking a Packaging Engineer for BDG to lead development and qualification of packaging solutions for aseptic and non-aseptic medical devices, ensuring alignment with domestic and international guidelines and standards.

You will lead the design control process for medium to high complexity projects, translate customer needs into engineering requirements, and represent R&D Packaging on cross‑functional teams to drive packaging strategy. Mentors will be involved to grow knowledge base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5–8 years packaging engineering experience in medical device or drug development.
• Experience designing packaging systems for sterile devices; knowledge of ISO 11607, 13485, 16975 and related standards.
• DFSS, DOE and statistical analysis experience; strong design verification by analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own BDG packaging goals; develop and qualify packaging solutions for aseptic and non-aseptic medical devices.
• Lead design control for medium/high complexity projects; own packaging system specs.
• Drive end-to-end projects with cross-functional teams; manage risks to meet specs and timelines.
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements for packaging and process specs.
• Represent R&D Packaging on multi-functional teams to drive packaging strategy.
• Mentor junior members; share technical knowledge and stay current with trends.
