Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a Medical Device Desktop Support Specialist Sr / Inter to advance cybersecurity and device safety across Michigan Medicine. You will work with the Information Assurance team to mitigate cyber threats on medical devices and support risk management strategies that protect patient care systems.

Hybrid work options are possible; travel to off-site Michigan Medicine facilities using University vehicles is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or related experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant cybersecurity or IT experience for senior level.
• Associate's degree in engineering, science, or technology for intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare security assessments for information systems and services per procedures and regulations.
• Develop mitigation strategies to bring risk levels to an acceptable range and assist remediation.
• Recommend improvements in policies, procedures, and safeguards to address cyber risks.
• Assess the impact of vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies by severity.
• Build relationships with teams and partners at all levels to foster trust and collaboration.
• Keep security service offerings up to date with current knowledge and testing.
