Job summary

VMG Health is seeking an experienced Medical Coding Compliance Auditor to join the Coding Audit and Compliance (CAC) team. The role involves auditing medical records, applying CMS/AMA/OIG guidance, and delivering actionable compliance recommendations to a diverse client base including hospitals, physician practices, and private equity firms.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and project-management skills, with a background in healthcare auditing and documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare auditing, documentation review, or compliance experience.
• Experience auditing medical records and evaluating documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with payer requirements and regulatory guidelines (CMS, AMA, OIG, NCCI).
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct documentation and coding reviews across specialties.
• Analyze medical records for chart content and coding accuracy.
• Prepare audit reports and executive summaries for clients and leadership.
• Educate providers and staff on documentation, coding, and compliance matters.
• Identify risk trends and develop corrective action recommendations.
• Present findings to providers, executives, and compliance leadership.
