Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) is seeking a Senior Coding & Billing Specialist to audit outpatient coding and education, ensuring compliant documentation for optimal reimbursement. The role requires NY Medicaid knowledge, CPT/ICD-10-CM expertise, and Epic EMR proficiency.

The specialist will review denials, analyze reimbursement trends, and develop training materials for providers, collaborating with revenue cycle leadership to improve documentation quality and reduce denials.

Qualifications

• Five+ years’ outpatient coding experience with coder certification.
• Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS and Medicaid rules.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Excel for data analysis.
• Ability to educate providers on compliance and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Audit outpatient coding to ensure accurate, compliant reimbursement.
• Review billing work queues and denials to drive improvements.
• Develop educational materials for providers and staff.
• Identify opportunities for Epic automation and workflow enhancements.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership to optimize processes.
