Parkland Health is seeking a skilled medical billing professional to review claims, follow up with third-party payors, and secure timely payments. You will handle denials, submit appeals, and maintain detailed notes across multiple accounts in a busy hospital business office.

Candidates should have 3 years in medical billing/collections, a high school diploma or GED, and strong computer and communication skills. Experience with medical software and the managed care environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of hospital or physician office or insurance experience in medical billing/collection.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable in lieu of specific requirements.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to understand managed care and insurance contractual arrangements.

Responsabilités

• Contact payors to follow up on outstanding claims and correct accounts.
• Respond to routine denials and submit appeals to resolve balances.
• Document actions in the system account notes for clarity.
• Perform routine audits to resolve discrepancies in balances.
• Inform supervisor of changes in payor requirements and analyze denials.
• Track productivity and prepare periodic reports as required.
• Maintain positive relationships with payors, patients, and Parkland staff.
