Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Two years post-secondary education in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR an equivalent combination of education/experience in accounts receivable or healthcare billing required.
• Multitasking and problem-solving abilities required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong organizational skills with an aptitude for detail-oriented work required.
• Experience in use of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Typing a minimum of 30 words per minute with 95% accuracy required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely submission of accurate claims data and timely account follow-up with third-party payers to facilitate prompt and accurate payment.
• Perform daily reconciliation of claim submissions and resolve issues with external departments as needed before submission.
• Make decisions to ensure account accuracy, limited denials, and timely billing of patient, primary, secondary, and tertiary payers.
