The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of medical billing experience (FQHC preferred), experience with electronic health records (eClinicalWorks preferred), and bilingual English/Spanish

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of direct medical billing experience; FQHC experience preferred.
• Experience with an electronic health record (EHR) system; eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews insurance information, eligibility, and applies payer requirements prior to submission.
• Submits claims electronically or on paper (CMS-1500/UB-04) timely.
• Monitors problems with claims and resolves billing questions from patients and payers.
• Posts payments, handles AR follow-up, and reconciles patient accounts.
• Reviews denials, submits corrections or appeals, and tracks trends for process improvements.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and assists with month-end billing close.
