Millennium Physician Group in Florida (Spring Hill) seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital-based settings. You will help ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation in the EHR, and coordinated care under provider supervision.

The role involves taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, performing EKGs and phlebotomy where needed, administering immunizations, and educating patients on medications and preventive care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent) required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Certified in EKG or phlebotomy procedures through an approved program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take comprehensive patient intakes with vital signs and histories.
  • Assist providers during exams, minor procedures, wound care, and testing.
  • Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per policy.
  • Prepare, label, and process lab samples and point-of-care tests.
  • Maintain infection control and equipment calibration across areas.
  • Support care coordination and patient triage across settings.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
  • Document data in the EHR accurately and timely.
  • Schedule and track appointments, referrals, tests, and authorizations.
  • Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations and coding.
  • Monitor inventory and prepare exam rooms with supplies.
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety drills.
