Job summary

Providence Health & Services in Santa Monica is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) III to support licensed practitioners and help lead a patient-centered care team.

The MA III takes initiative, mentors colleagues, and promotes quality care while performing duties across MA I/II scope in a fast-paced clinic environment. On-site, full-time role with Providence’s dedicated culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical MA training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• National Provider BLS from American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
• Minimum 2 years of high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under delegation of a licensed practitioner.
• Serve as informal leader and mentor to Medical Assistants.
• Act as ambassador, change agent, and quality champion for the clinic.

Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) III works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA III is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I and MA II roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. MA III serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training - Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants. --or--


• Coursework/Training - Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program. --or--


• Coursework/Training - Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces


• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
