Job summary

Cantina Labs is hiring a Software Engineer to advance real-time speech, audio, and media systems that power live conversations with AI characters. You will work on low-level media pipelines, integrate with speech models, and scale WebRTC-based infrastructure for cross-platform use across iOS, Android, and web.

We value high-performance C++ work, system programming fundamentals, and the ability to drive projects from requirements to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience with C/C++ in a professional context.
• Strong fundamentals in memory management and high-performance data structures.
• Exposure to system programming concepts including network protocol design, asynchronous I/O, and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Improve real-time speech and media systems powering live AI conversations.
• Reduce latency and optimize responsiveness across audio streaming and speech pipelines.
• Build tools to enable creation of AI models for speech processing.
• Develop new voice and video capabilities for immersive user interactions with AI bots.
• Extend WebRTC infrastructure across iOS, Android, and web.
