Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound region seeks an experienced Charge RN to supervise a frontline nursing team. You will advocate for nurses, oversee patient care, and ensure alignment with department goals and regulatory standards.

Required are RN licensure in WA, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and BLS/CPR. Preferred BSN and 1–2 years in acute care; prior charge‑nurse experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in Washington state at time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a department of frontline nurses and ensure delivery of high‑quality patient care.
• Advocate for nurses and support their professional development and performance.
• Administer, oversee, and document medication administration as ordered and in accordance with policy.
• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral, and spiritual needs and plan care accordingly.
• Document care and patient status using the nursing process; coordinate with physicians and discharge planning.
