Job summary

Dandy is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our Precision Robotics R&D team. You will architect and integrate sophisticated robotic systems for next-generation prosthetics manufacturing, bridging theory and practical execution.

With 6+ years of experience, you will develop the 'nervous system' of our machines, integrating actuators, sensors, and motion control. This hybrid role is based in the South Bay Area, CA or Boston, MA with ~20% travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of machine-building experience, hardware, mechatronics or robotics engineering.
• Strong system-level architecture for production systems.
• Experience with both additive and subtractive manufacturing processes.
• Experience with sensor integration, embedded systems, and motion control.

Responsibilities

• Architect and integrate complex robotic hardware systems with high micron-level reliability.
• Design and optimize Special Purpose Machines using additive and subtractive processes.
• Lead rapid prototyping and conduct structural/thermal analyses with FMEA.
• Implement motor control, sensor fusion, and real-time communication protocols.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams.
