Job summary

Raise Robotics seeks a Principal Mechatronics Engineer to design hardware architecture and mentor engineers for a mobile manipulator for construction applications. The role requires leading hardware teams and coordinating with software and field personnel to balance hardware and software tradeoffs.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on prototyping experience, is adept at designing for outdoor environments and ingress protection, and can manage BOMs and vendor relations effectively.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience taking mechatronics systems from idea to production.
• Experience designing mechatronics systems for outdoor environments.
• Designing enclosures for ingress protection.
• Strong familiarity with power distribution systems and sensor integration; PLC programming is a plus.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis knowledge.
• 2D & 3D CAD software expertise (SolidWorks) with fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing and maintenance of a modular mobile manipulator platform.
• Lead hardware engineering efforts and mentor a team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Manage vendor relationships and order components for building machines.
• Collaborate with software engineers and construction field personnel to align on design requirements and tradeoffs.

For this role, we are seeking a Principal Mechatronics Engineer who will design the hardware architecture and mentor other engineers in developing a mobile manipulator for construction applications.

• At least 5 years of experience in taking mechatronics systems from idea to production.
• Previous experience designing mechatronics systems for use in outdoor environments.
• Familiarity in designing enclosures for ingress protection.
• Strong familiarity working with power distribution systems and sensor integration. Plus for experience programming PLCs.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Proficiency using 2D & 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar, including fabrication drawings using appropriate material specifications and tolerances
• Hands on experience with fabricating and assembling prototypes
• Experience creating and managing detailed BOMs.
