Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform maintenance, integration, testing and field installation of hydraulic and life-support equipment. Work mainly at URC in San Diego with travel across the US and abroad.

The role requires two years of formal training or four years on-site experience, ability to read complex schematics, and proficiency with piping test sets and NDT. U.S. citizenship and a DOD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years formal training or four years on-site experience in hydraulic, life support and mechanical systems.
• Able to interpret complex mechanical and hydraulic schematics and drawings.
• Skills in piping system test sets, flow/pressure meters, and NDT.
• Proficient with common hand and power tools.
• Fork-lift, overhead crane, and rigging experience.
• U.S. passport and citizenship; ability to obtain a DOD security clearance.
• Experience with Deep Submergence Systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound technical judgement following policies in meeting SROMC obligations.
• Maintain and operate SRDRS, SRCFS, ROV, SILOS, LWMS systems.
• Keep equipment ready to meet Fleet requirements and safety standards.
• Document maintenance and operations to sustain certification.
• Collaborate with team to resolve technical issues and improve safety.
• Travel and at-sea watchstanding may be required.
