Engineering Economics, Inc. (EEI) is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Specialist to join our Mission Critical team.

You will lead complex commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for mechanical systems in data centers and other high-reliability facilities, collaborating with project leadership, clients, contractors, and technical staff. This role emphasizes field execution leadership, functional performance testing, issue resolution, and mentoring of less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in mechanical systems or related field
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, and controls
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and sequences of operation
• Advanced understanding of MEP systems and building operations
• Lead commissioning activities and guide field execution
• Proficient in documenting and communicating findings

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification for mechanical systems.
• Guide field execution, performance testing, startup support, and closeout activities.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specs, trend data, and test results to evaluate readiness.
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, and recommendations to clients and teams.
• Mentor Mechanical Specialists and support personnel through coaching and reviews.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, high-quality project delivery in fast-paced environments.
