Job summary

JMT seeks a Mechanical Project Manager to deliver mechanical and plumbing design projects for facilities engineering across multiple sectors. You will lead projects from planning through construction, coordinating with clients, internal teams, and external consultants on schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a ABET-accredited degree, PE or PE-eligible status, 12+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD; on-site work and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain PE within 6–12 months.
• 12+ years of experience in specialized discipline.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes.
• Must pass JMT Motor Vehicle screening.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering calculations and assess best mechanical design solutions.
• Conduct field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, code reviews.
• Produce and QC mechanical/plumbing drawings and specifications for bidding.
• Coordinate design tasks with junior staff and external consultants.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and invoicing.
• Develop PM plans, pricing, and project-specific quality plans.
• Lead client presentations and coordination with stakeholders.
