Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Specialist to lead inspections of piping, tanks and pressure vessels across operating facilities. You will maintain reliability and safety by applying API/ASME standards and using SAP and Credosoft for documentation.

The role requires API 510/570 certifications, 5+ years of field experience, and the ability to travel up to 50% to remote sites in the U.S. and Canada. California pay ranges apply; join a safety‑driven, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in Mechanical Integrity of piping and vessels inspections.
• Experience with inspection methods for vessels, tanks and piping.
• API 510 Vessel Inspection Certification required.
• API 570 Piping Inspection Certification required.
• Proficiency with word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Understanding of properties, behaviors, and hazards of equipment.
• Experience in petrochemical or industrial gases preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to work independently, lead a crew, and work extended hours including night shifts.
• SAP or CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise with Mechanical Integrity standards, software, and SAP.
• Learn external API/ASME/NBIC standards for mechanical integrity.
• Participate in safety programs and promote safety/environmental compliance.
• Lead field inspections and ensure reports are completed and documented.
• Investigate pressure system failures and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Develop expertise in inspection technologies (Ultrasonic, radiography, etc.).
• Maintain API Inspector certifications.
• Provide technical inspection reports and documentation in SAP and Credosoft.
• Provide leadership to improve Mechanical Integrity programs.
• Collaborate in a team environment and travel up to 50%.
