RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Facilities Engineer Manager – Mechanical to lead mechanical building systems design, HVAC, engineering, and construction project management. You will coordinate projects from concept through close-out and interface with cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in building mechanical engineering, a BS in mechanical/industrial engineering, knowledge of boilers, chillers, BAS, and the ability to write technical specs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in building mechanical engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or related engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of building mechanical systems including boilers, refrigeration, cooling skids, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, VAV, compressed air, nitrogen, and liquid nitrogen systems.
• Experience with construction project management, customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, scheduling, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close‑out.
• Ability to write clear technical engineering specifications, reports, and operating procedures.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering projects including mechanical building systems troubleshooting, support of building control systems, office renovations, laboratory fit‑ups, and manufacturing equipment installations.
• Support projects from design through the bid cycle, construction management, and project closeout.
• Estimate projects, schedule them, and design heating and cooling systems with heat load calculations and equipment sizing studies.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, structural, civil, IT, and security disciplines.
• Prepare diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents, and construction administration.
• Meet with internal customers and develop continuous improvement projects, coordination studies, and project management.
• Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources such as IT, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
