Job summary

Hill York Service Company is seeking a dynamic Estimator to develop competitive bids for mechanical projects. The role involves reviewing bid specs and drawings, performing precise takeoffs, and delivering accurate estimates to support win strategies.

You will collaborate with General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors while coordinating with Project Management to ensure a smooth transition from bid to build.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years’ experience as an estimator in mechanical contracting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with HVAC/mechanical systems and bid takeoffs.
• Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid specifications and drawings for mechanical systems (HVAC, duct, etc.).
• Perform accurate takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
• Ensure bid documents and subcontractor buyout data are accurate for handoff to Project Management.
• Prepare subcontractor bid packages and manage vendor communications.
• Develop RFIs, clarify scope, and ensure timely bid day analysis.
