Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The candidate will design and integrate mechanical components for solid rocket motors, including motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and interfaces, with CAD models and engineering drawings.

The role allows a remote option and can be based at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR facilities or remotely, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 5–7 years of engineering experience.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Confers with engineers to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Researches and analyzes design proposals to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance.
• Specifies components or directs modifications to meet design and performance specs.
• Investigates equipment failures to diagnose issues and support maintenance.
