Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Starship Operations team. This role supports production programs through strategic planning, process optimization, and resource alignment to tasks.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives to increase throughput, reduce build hours, and standardize best practices in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Responsibilities include designing upgrades, driving improvements, mentoring technicians and engineers, and collaborating across disciplines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, industrial, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in production engineering, manufacturing, or industrial project management.

Responsibilities

• Identify and upgrade capital equipment, layouts to meet demand.
• Increase throughput and reduce build hours and defects.
• Serve as SME in Starship production processes and data gathering.
• Develop production strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Create site and factory design plans to meet rate targets.
• Define new manufacturing processes and systems for high-volume production.
• Train teams on best practices and provide briefings.
• Lead and collaborate to solve complex problems under deadlines.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Test, Materials, Quality, Supply Chain.
• Present findings and project status to leadership.
