Job summary

Ware Malcomb is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in New York to lead and deliver comprehensive building engineering solutions. You will direct Engineering efforts across HVAC, plumbing, controls, and energy-efficient design, guiding teams through planning, design, and construction phases.

You will coordinate with designers, owners, contractors, and consultants, perform analyses, manage budgets, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality technical documents and field execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced financial knowledge for complex calculations and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as Engineer of Record (EOR) and guide team members through phases such as studies, design, and specifications.
• Coordinate between engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Engage with designers, owners, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform or oversee engineering analyses and design activities to meet requirements.
• Organize project teams to ensure successful delivery within budget.
• Review calculations and modeling for accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor team members on engineering principles and standards.
• Prepare, review, and release drawings and specifications; resolve design changes.
• Lead field activities including site assessments, commissioning support, and punch lists.
