Job summary

W3Global is seeking a Professional Engineer with 5–10 years of HVAC design experience to join our Pittsburgh-area team. The role focuses on collaborative design work for a variety of HVAC projects, leveraging knowledge of building codes and load calculations.

Applicants should have a PE license and be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Word/Excel. Ideal candidates will size equipment such as chillers, boilers, AHUs, and associated ductwork, and contribute to writing and editing project

Qualifications

• PE license with 5–10 years of HVAC design experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of IMC and NFPA building codes.
• Experience sizing equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs, fans, ducts, pumps, pipes).
• Experience with cooling/heating load calculations (Trane Trace or Carrier HAPS).
• Experience writing and editing specifications.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) - 5 to 10 years of experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IMC and NFPA
• Equipment sizing and selection (Chillers, boilers, AHU's, fans, ductwork, pumps, pipes, etc)
• Knowledge and experience in cooling and heating load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAPS
• Past experience that allows for specification writing and specification editing
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Additional Attributes a Plus

• Working experience with chilled water plants, boilers (hot water and steam)
• Working experience with combined heating and cooling plants (CCHP)
• Working experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit
• Excellent written and communication skills
