Job summary

P2S, a Legence company and award-winning engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Seattle, WA. You will lead HVAC and plumbing design across higher education, energy and public-sector projects and supervise multi-disciplinary teams.

Role includes managing budgets, schedules, design writing, and client presentations, with a focus on delivering sustainable, code-compliant solutions. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 remote; PE license required; 8+ years of experience

Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE License)
  • 8+ years of engineering design and project management experience
  • Experience with all aspects of HVAC and Plumbing Design
  • Experience with design-build projects
  • Experience performing energy studies, audits, and analysis
  • Knowledge of Clean Buildings Law HB1390 and Climate Action Plan
  • Knowledge of state and local codes
  • Ability to present complex concepts to clients and staff
  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering; LEED accreditation a plus

Employment Type: Full-time

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days In-office / 2 Remote

Salary: $124,800-$183,040 (dependent on experience)

Office: Seattle, WA

Level: Mid to Senior

General Responsibilities:

As a competent Registered Professional Engineer, the candidate performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of HVAC and plumbing design engineering and supervision of multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and designers. The candidate will be focused on higher education, ports, and energy projects. The candidate is responsible for administering all phases of projects from proposal development through construction completion. The candidate has primary responsibility for budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, and specification writing on a given project with the authority to direct, control, and monitor all activities on multiple projects at a time.

Position Requirements
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE License)
  • 8+ years of engineering design and project management experience
  • Experience with all aspects of HVAC and Plumbing Design
  • Experience with design-build projects.
  • Experience performing energy studies, audits, and analysis.
  • Involved with Working knowledge of the Clean Buildings Law, HB1390, and Climate Action Plan.
  • Experience and knowledge of the state and local codes.
  • Comfortable and willing to present complex engineering concepts to clients, industry partners, and other staff.
  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus
