Job summary

Echo Neurotechnologies is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of wearable hardware for BCI applications.

You will design, prototype, and evaluate electro‑mechanical hardware while coordinating with manufacturing vendors and maintaining design verification within a medical device quality system. The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, CAD design (SolidWorks) for manufacturability, and collaboration across a small, dedicated team in a startup environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
  • 7+ years of post-academic, industry experience in electro‑mechanical hardware product development.
  • Hands-on rapid prototyping experience.
  • Experience designing manufacturable mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Experience with component and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with tolerance analyses.
  • 7+ years using CAD tools (SolidWorks) for concept and detailed design.
  • Experience with thermal/structural analysis (FEA, ANSYS).
  • Experience developing electro‑mechanical test systems.
  • Experience in quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype mechanical components and assemblies (rapid prototyping, machining, injection molding).
  • Develop component and assembly drawings with tolerance analyses.
  • Identify and manage manufacturing vendors.
  • Perform simulations and analysis (FEA, thermal) with vendors.
  • Develop electro‑mechanical test systems for characterization.
  • Execute design verification activities.
