Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC and plumbing systems for a broad range of projects, from commercial to government sectors. You will lead multiple projects from concept to completion and guide project teams to deliver high-quality, efficient designs.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of experience, a PE license, and proven HVAC/plumbing design expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 10 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experienced in HVAC and plumbing system design
• Strong communicator and natural team leader

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for a wide range of project types
• Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects from concept to completion
• Guide and support project teams to ensure quality and efficiency
• Develop project proposals and help define scope, schedule, and budget
• Review technical drawings and perform HVAC calculations using industry-standard software
• Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and client standards
