Job summary

Invetech in San Diego is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own complex mechanical and electromechanical subsystems for medical, diagnostics, and life-science products. You will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, and see your designs become functioning hardware in the lab.

You will apply design controls, conduct risk management, and develop manufacturable components while maintaining CAD architectures and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• ~5+ years’ experience in product development, ideally with electro-mechanical systems.
• Advanced SolidWorks experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of a mechanical or electromechanical subsystem through design, release, integration, testing.
• Experience developing regulated medical devices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Apply medical-device design controls, risk management, traceability, verification planning, and design documentation.
• Establish robust CAD assembly architecture and interface control for evolving designs.
• Evaluate motion, packaging, clearances, interfaces, and integration with electrical, software, and other elements.
• Develop manufacturable components using machining, molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, casting, elastomer fabrication.
• Produce released drawings and documentation with GD&T, tolerances, BOMs, and inspections.
