Job summary

Techtronic Industries (TTi) seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer with strong product design experience to lead design and development of new concepts for power tools and related products. The role emphasizes compact, powerful, efficient designs with hands-on prototype building and thorough GD&T knowledge.

You will collaborate across teams in Anderson, SC and overseas, ensuring material selection, packaging and safety, and compliance with regulations while driving design for high-volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' mechanical design experience.
• Proven 3D CAD experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastics injection molding, screw machines, powder metal, stampings, forming, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of components and assemblies to meet market driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing as related to consumer products.
• Build functional prototypes and test fixtures to prove designs and concepts.
• Communicate technical details and concepts to both technical and non-technical team members in Anderson, SC and internationally.
• Accountable for technical elements of product execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging and safety, as well as, regulatory and standards compliance.
• Drive quality compliance as related to project work. Utilize appropriate design development tools and techniques such as Value and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design of experiments, design for manufacture, assembly and inspection, CAD analysis and 3D Design Tools.
