Jobot is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical/HVAC design for complex building projects in Raleigh. This role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with architects and contractors, and delivering technically sound, energy-efficient solutions.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 8+ years of experience, and a strong background in HVAC/system design for institutional facilities. Hybrid work is offered after training, with in-office collaboration and remote days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong background designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial or institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mechanical/HVAC systems for complex building projects.
• Perform and review engineering calculations and equipment selections.
• Develop mechanical system concepts based on client requirements, project goals, and budgets.
• Evaluate and assess existing mechanical systems.
• Manage mechanical discipline staff, assignments, schedules, and project budgets.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
• Prepare project proposals and participate in client presentations.
• Maintain knowledge of mechanical building systems, energy efficiency, codes, technologies, and design practices.
