Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with HVAC and plumbing expertise to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to expand technical leadership, manage project scope, and develop sustainable, code-compliant solutions across diverse markets within a hybrid work model.

You will design and review mechanical systems, mentor junior staff, collaborate with sales to win work, and ensure client requirements are met. Travel up to 10% may be required as projects move across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical, architectural, or chemical engineering or related field.
• EIT certification or FE exam within 18 months of hire.
• At least 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems, including master planning, feasibility studies, and mechanical systems.
• Review draft designs for regulatory compliance and internal policies.
• Conduct site reviews to align designs with location specs.
• Create technical papers and design documentation for KM and journals.
• Attend industry conferences and collaborate with sales to expand outreach.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff on projects.
