Job summary

Selectek in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of HVAC and plumbing design experience.

The role requires a PE license and leadership to guide local and national mechanical teams, delivering design leadership in client meetings and project execution. The position offers a base salary of $150k–$170k with quarterly bonuses, and the candidate will report to the Mechanical Director, collaborating across disciplines and guiding engineers and designers in both HVAC

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers.
• Develop and manage project work plans.
• Responsible for system selections, basis of design and quality of work product.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with project team members.
• Represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings and communicate with clients as needed.
• Coordinate mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager.
• Provide construction phase support including submittal review and RFI responses.
• Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards with senior staff.
• Assist the Mechanical Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control.
• Act as a senior resource for HVAC and plumbing design.
