Job summary

Shive-Hattery's West Des Moines office seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of HVAC, plumbing and building systems design experience. The role involves designing mechanical building systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and producing Revit-based construction drawings for projects across government, healthcare, industrial, commercial and education sectors.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with HVAC emphasis, 3D modeling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC, plumbing and building systems experience.
• License/Certification: Licensed Mechanical PE preferred but not required.
• Experience with 3D modeling software; Revit preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building systems: plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, fire protection, building automation, and industrial processes.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams with electrical, structural, architectural and civil engineers.
• Work on projects across sectors: government, healthcare, industrial, commercial and education facilities.
• Produce construction drawings using Revit 3D modeling software.
• Visit project sites for measuring, data collection and construction observation duties.
