Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer for a contract role in Oshkosh, WI.

The incumbent will design and optimize heavy‑duty vehicle components, performing analysis and development for existing and new vehicles to ensure reliability and cost effectiveness. Under supervision, you will perform calculations, support senior engineers, and produce layouts, drawings, and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) with 3+ years of related experience.
• Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
• Experience with a high level CAD system.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations, investigations, and tasks per Oshkosh and industry standards.
• Support senior engineers with plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
• Lead or contribute to projects of limited complexity and manage multiple projects as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and drawings.
