Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division in Richmond, VA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for Data Center Power Systems, driving concepts through production Release. This role provides technical leadership in structural design, thermal management, product compliance, and manufacturability.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with electrical engineering, operations, quality, sourcing, and service teams to optimize enclosure systems, bus structures, and mounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience designing industrial equipment, electrical enclosures, switchgear, power distribution products, or similar equipment.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and production manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of PDU, RPP, and STS product platforms.
• Design and optimize enclosure systems, bus support structures, internal assemblies, and mounting architectures.
• Perform mechanical analysis, tolerance studies, thermal evaluations, and structural assessments.
• Lead design reviews and technical decision-making activities.
• Develop solutions that improve product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
• Support certification and compliance requirements.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering, operations, quality, sourcing, and service teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development.

This role is based out of Richmond, VA.The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
