Job summary

TYG, a leading US-based consultancy, is expanding with a brand-new Dallas office and is hiring a senior mechanical engineer to lead regional growth in the data center space. You will design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex facilities, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver projects on time and within code requirements.

This role offers immediate responsibility and growth within a fast-moving team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering or design experience preferred.
  • Extensive HVAC and plumbing design experience for facilities.
  • PE license required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex facilities.
  • Provide technical guidance on fire protection, controls, and equipment sizing.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations and code compliance.
  • Develop and review construction documents, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Coordinate designs across disciplines and support project planning.
  • Mentor junior engineers and communicate project requirements to stakeholders.

We have recently partnered with an industry-leading MEP firm in the mission critical and hyperscale data center space that is looking to open up a brand new Dallas office.

The east coast headquartered firm have rapidly established themselves in the industry and are growing at such a strong rate that they are now looking to expand into the Dallas market. Therefore, they are currently searching for a senior mechanical engineer to join this new team and help lead this office's regional growth.

This hire will be given the rare opportunity to join one of the quickest growing MEP firms in the data center market, whilst also taking on immediate responsibility and playing a key role in leading the direction of a new office. The firm is also very well positioned financially and this is reflected in how well they compensate their employees!

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex facilities
  • Provide technical guidance on fire protection, controls, equipment selection, and system sizing
  • Perform and review engineering calculations, analyses, and code compliance
  • Develop and review coordinated construction documents, submittals, and RFIs
  • Coordinate designs across multiple disciplines and support project planning and execution
  • Provide technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and communicate project requirements and solutions to stakeholders
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design and analysis software
  • CFD experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Excellent technical, analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering or design experience preferred
  • Extensive HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical design experience
  • Experience with data centers, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities preferred
  • PE license required or strongly preferred
