Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Principal Engineer-Data Center IT Rack Feasibility to lead complex mechanical designs for high-density data center solutions. You will interpret technology collateral, conduct analyses, and prepare test plans to validate function, reliability, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electro-mechanical product development experience.
• Experience with air and liquid cooling technologies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks for mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of finite element analysis and interpreting data sheets.
• Experience driving complex, fast-paced product development programs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop data center infrastructure and rack solutions.
• Design and develop mechanical and thermal components for air and liquid-cooled systems using 3D CAD tools.
• Prototype and evaluate concepts for feasibility, performance, reliability, and manufacturability; use FEA where appropriate.
• Interpret technical specifications and supplier docs to support design decisions and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with partners, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and tooling teams to improve scalability and cost efficiency.
