Job summary

HRU-Tech is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and support cooling systems for heavy‑duty vehicles and mobile equipment. You will perform analysis, create 3D CAD models, evaluate parts, and collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.

Remote work may be possible after the first week onsite. Minimum 3 years of related experience is required; cooling system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Support the design, development, integration, and modification of components for new and existing vehicle platforms.
  • Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and technical analysis in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and technical feasibility.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet technical requirements.
  • Prepare and review engineering layouts, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Utilize 3D CAD tools to develop and modify product designs.
  • Support product changes through established engineering change and documentation processes.
  • Provide engineering integration and execution support for vehicle and component designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, or other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance for production and business continuity needs.
  • Manage individual projects, portions of larger projects, or multiple concurrent engineering assignments.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines, manufacturing teams, business stakeholders, customers, and external suppliers.
  • Maintain project documentation supporting engineering analysis, research, design decisions, and historical records.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, presentations, and other engineering documentation.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians when working on common projects.

Senior Mechanical Engineer — Cooling Systems
Work Arrangement
  • Remote: Position may work remotely after completing the first week onsite.
  • Initial Onsite Requirement: First week onsite for onboarding and integration.

Position Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, develop, and support functional, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical systems and components for heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.

This position will provide engineering design, integration, analysis, and execution support for new and existing vehicle platforms. Cooling system design experience is preferred, although candidates may qualify based on broader relevant mechanical engineering experience.

The position requires a minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience and is well suited for an engineer who can independently manage technical assignments while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.

Cooling Systems Focus

Cooling system design experience is preferred for this position.

Relevant experience may include:
  • Vehicle cooling systems
  • Thermal management systems
  • Heat exchangers and radiators
  • Pumps, fans, hoses, piping, or related components
  • Coolant flow and system integration
  • Component selection and sizing
  • Mechanical system troubleshooting
  • Engineering analysis or system performance evaluation
  • Automotive, heavy-vehicle, off-highway, or other mobile-equipment applications

Candidates do not necessarily need experience across all of these areas. Engineers with a strong mechanical design background and transferable experience with related vehicle or mobile-equipment systems may also be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Cooling system or thermal management design experience.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty vehicle, off-highway equipment, mobile equipment, or related systems.
  • Experience with Creo or CATIA; equivalent high-level 3D CAD experience may also be considered.
  • Experience creating or modifying engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Experience supporting component selection, system integration, engineering changes, troubleshooting, or production.
