Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with at least five years of experience to join our Downtown Los Angeles office. You will support the design and delivery of mechanical projects, collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes project delivery, technical design, and client coordination, offering growth within our mechanical practice and opportunities for leadership and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • FE/EIT required, PE preferred.
  • Experience applying California Mechanical/Plumbing/Energy codes and ASHRAE standards.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and engineering calculations with industry software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems for various building types.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
  • Perform load calculations and system analyses.
  • Coordinate mechanical with architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, and budgets.
