Job summary

SkyWater Search Partners is assisting a privately held aerospace manufacturer in the Minneapolis area to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The role covers the full product development lifecycle from concept and design through analysis, testing, and delivery of mission-critical hardware.

The successful candidate will have 3-5+ years of mechanical or design engineering experience in aerospace/defense, proficiency with SolidWorks, and strong analytical and collaborative skills to drive design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of mechanical engineering or design engineering experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or a similar regulated industry.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks is required.
• Experience with engineering analysis methods and design validation & verification processes.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components & assemblies for aerospace / defense applications.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed production drawings with GD&T.
• Perform engineering analyses including structural, thermal, and tolerance stack-up to validate designs.
• Support integration, assembly, and testing of hardware throughout the product development cycle.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design reports, test procedures, and compliance records.
• Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
