Senior Mechanical Engineer - Position and Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Middough, you will organize and execute work tasks across multiple projects. This position is on‑site at the client facility in Oregon, OH. In this role, you will provide technical and engineering support on assigned projects requiring inspection and maintenance in accordance with API and ASME standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical design and engineering oversight of project scope for assigned projects through project completion.
  • Gather and evaluate inspection records, existing drawings, operational information, and maintenance work orders to support work scope development.
  • Prepare, review and/or work with engineering team and/or general contractor in developing construction work packages that may include scope of work, pipe class description, detailed equipment and pipe drawings, material takeoffs, support systems, specification sheets and vendor quotes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Site Engineering Practices, Codes and Standards.
  • Effectively communicate with supervision and other project team members on status and development of projects.
  • Understand and support the Management of Change process.
Education, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar with experience required.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Ability to multi‑task and be highly organized for effective project planning and completion.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, twist/bend, use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers and talk and hear.
  • Frequently use up‑close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
  • May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as climbing ladders and/or stairs, extreme heat and/or cold, and/or poor air quality) if or when on‑site at a client facility. Noise levels may be moderate to high at various client sites, hearing protection may be required and/or provided. Safety protections to be provided by the client and/or company and are required to be used and followed.
  • Will require car travel to the client site(s); may require other car or air travel to other company or client locations.
  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
  • Overtime (weekdays, weekends and/or holidays) may be necessary based on project workload.
