Job summary

John Galt Staffing seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to support project teams with design, drawings, and BOMs. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients during design reviews to ensure precise, reliable solutions.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years in design, strong communication, and experience with motion systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation mechanisms. SolidWorks experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, plus equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in a design engineering role with experience in indirectly coaching and guiding junior team members.
• Strong written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work and support a team environment.
• Familiarity with motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, robots.
• Experience user of CAD packages, SolidWorks preferred.
• Use of engineering tools such as Mathcad, Ansys, or equivalent FEA packages is a plus.
• Experience designing mechanisms for automation, complex electro-mechanical systems, and/or mechanical solutions that require a high level of precision is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Optimally communicate within a team environment
