Senior Mechanical Engineer
JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, requires an experienced senior mechanical engineer to work onsite at our Greenville and Liberty, South Carolina facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop deep knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
- Collaboratively use judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
- Work on small projects or portions of larger projects.
- May review the technical output of team members.
- Influence team and department decisions.
- Disciplined lead and contributor to facilitate successful projects.
- Possess above average oral and written communication skills.
- Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
- Work under minimum supervision.
- Exercise independent judgment, innovate, and work autonomously.
- Recognize and implement significant design and workflow improvements.
- Recognize engineering and automation/amusement technology-related design and workflow improvements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate's degree (2-year) with experience from an accredited program (ABET/EAC).
- 5+ years' work experience as a mechanical engineer.
- Experienced with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).
- FE Exam or EIT desired.
- Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
- Has sufficient knowledge to supervise others.
- Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks.
- Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work.
- Able to lead discipline-specific teams and influence project direction and progress.
- Viewed as a technical expert in the department.
- May serve as a mentor or coach for developing engineers.
- Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
- Travel required up to 25%, including overnight and international.
