Nokia Federal Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead circuit-design and third-party hardware evaluation for the Space and Defense hardware team in Chantilly, VA.

You will collaborate with electrical design, test, and PCB layout to deliver robust, production-ready solutions. The role requires experience in mechanical design, thermal modeling, design for environment, and regulatory testing, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and influence product readiness for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 15 years of hardware mechanical design experience.
• Experience with mechanical design tools and environments.

Responsibilities

• Decompose product requirements into mechanical design requirements.
• Own mechanical designs from block diagram to schematic-level circuitry.
• Collaborate with electrical designers and software engineers.
• Work with PCB layout to realize board-level design with proper interconnects.
• Provide weekly program status reports.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain on material acquisition and prototype assembly.
• Document HW design maturity and quality at milestones P7/P8.
• Champion design to launch product into production.
