Job summary

Jacobs seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to support our fast-paced Data Center market. You will contribute to the development and delivery of mechanical system designs, collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to execute innovative solutions.

You will perform design assignments with general guidance, deliver construction documents for HVAC and hydronic systems, and participate in model coordination efforts while mentoring junior designers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in mission-critical or industrial facilities.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM modeling for mechanical systems.
• Experience developing construction documents for HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop Revit/BIM models and construction documents for mechanical systems on data center projects.
• Support the layout and design of HVAC and hydronic systems, including chilled water and cooling water systems.
• Assist in development of design criteria and basis of design documentation.
• Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs, including flow diagrams and general arrangements.
• Perform ductwork and piping layout based on load requirements, system diagrams, and equipment configurations.
• Produce detailed construction documents, including plans, sections, and system details.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, structural, architectural) to ensure integrated designs.
• Participate in model coordination efforts, including clash detection (NavisWorks/Revizto).
• Support design reviews and quality control processes.
• Mentor and guide junior designers as appropriate.
