Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, build, document, and test complex RF/Microwave assemblies and electronics subsystems for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications.

The role involves mechanical architecture, packaging design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including RF/Electrical, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. A government security clearance may be required in the future and U.S. citizenship is often a prerequisite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in High Reliability, Aerospace, or Defense Electronics product with RF/microwave development.
  • Proficient with Solidworks 3D and AutoCAD 2D; GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, and documentation of electromechanical hardware for rugged military applications.
  • Own mechanical architecture and detailed packaging design (enclosures, frames, mounting, sealing, EMI, thermal paths).
  • Translate customer requirements into mechanical requirements and verifications; lead design reviews.
  • Design fixtures to support testing and advanced manufacturing
  • Support testing including thermal, vibration, environmental stress screening
  • Collaborate with RF/Electrical, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
  • Support producibility improvements and corrective actions
  • Prototype and qualification support; failure analysis and corrective actions
  • Design for mechanical shock, pyroshock, and high-G environments; implement mitigations
  • This position requires a government security clearance in the future; clearances may be granted to U.S. citizens.
