Job summary
A leading technology company in Herndon, Virginia is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to develop new sensing and processing technologies. The role involves hands-on design from concept to production, overseeing fabrication and testing. Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a strong background in mechanical design, preferably in military or automotive systems. Candidates must be U.S. citizens due to security clearance requirements, and the work environment includes a blend of office and field tasks.
Qualifications
10+ years' experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Ability to work both in an office and on site.
Physical capability to manage tasks as required by the job.
Responsibilities
Develop complex mechanical systems from concept to production.
Guide and mentor engineers with less experience.
Manage parts fabrication and system assembly.
Skills
Diverse design experience
Experience bringing a product to full-scale production
Strong reasoning and math/science background
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated, interested in learning
CAD experience
FEA experience
Use of hand tools and measurement equipment
Experience with basic fabrication equipment
