Job summary

Draper is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to ruggedized, electro-mechanical systems for challenging national security projects. The role covers the full mechanical design lifecycle from concept to test and delivery, within a multidisciplinary team in Cambridge, MA.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years of full-cycle mechanical design experience and a proactive, curiosity-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics and physics.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design concept exploration and prototyping with minimal guidance.
• Define design approach and independently execute assignments.
• Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations.
• Identify design risks and communicate with project leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
