Job summary

Aurora Innovation in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the Compute Product Engineering team to help develop the Aurora Driver Module and its integration into vehicle architectures.

You will lead mechanical design from concept through mass production, interfacing with ECUs and PCBAs, ensuring manufacturability and safety in harsh environments, and collaborating with electrical, reliability, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience designing mechanical parts interfacing with electrical components.
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing processes and harsh environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to perform tolerance analysis using Worst Case / RSS.
  • Great documentation and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel 3–4 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical design of the compute module and its integration into vehicle architecture.
  • Drive robust, manufacturable designs for safety-critical environments.
  • Collaborate with electrical, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support and sustain electro-mechanical assemblies from concept to mass production.
